Roxanne Lara explained the benefits LWCF (Land Water Conservation Fund) funding has brought to Carlsbad and local economies across New Mexico. I am glad she pointed out that those funds come from offshore drilling royalties and should be used on the ground to make sure we have good places for hunting and fishing and outdoor recreation. From what I understand about how it is supposed to work, these funds certainly should not be diverted and spent on other, less impactful federal programs. New Mexico's senators are both working to protect LWCF from being raided, and I hope that Congressman Steve Pearce will join them.
